About

Jacqueline Gibb

I am a registered auDHD (Autistic & ADHD) counsellor, supervisor, writer, and educator. I primarily work with Autistic & ADHD adults as well as those who have experienced trauma. I also offer parent coaching and work with couples, including with ND/NT couples.

I use an integrative therapy framework, meaning that I utilise and combine different therapy approaches. This is because I don’t think that one single approach has all of the answers, but also because I don’t believe that people should have to try and fit into a particular therapy model. Some of the models that I am trained/informed in include person-centred (Rogerian) therapy, solution focused therapy, parts therapy,, somatic therapy, and constructivism.

I have a calm and relaxed approach. I aim to provide a space for you where you can safely explore your current and past experiences, build on your strengths and learn new strategies & perspectives, to create the change you are wanting to see in your life.

Areas of interests

I enjoy working with a range of different people & issues, but below are particular areas that I am passionate about working with.

Autistic and ADHDers
This is the core of my counselling practice. I especially enjoy supporting Autistic adults in the pre-during-post Autistic diagnosis, and to help them to develop and embrace their Autistic identity and construct a life that is safe and sustainable.

Deep, long term work
I especially enjoy working with clients who want to address a current issue or crisis, change patterns in their lives, and construct new and deeper understandings of themselves. I do this work with individuals, couples and parents.

Couples work
I especially enjoy working with neurodivergent couples or mixed neurotype couples to create new ways to communicate, do relationships differently and create visibility in relationships.

Parent coaching
I have such a heart for teenagers, but I believe that parents are best placed to meet their teenagers’ needs. When parents have their own needs met, understand their teenager better, are upskilled or helped to address some of their own issues or causes for interpersonal conflict, it has positive flow on effects to their children.
